Exemptions In Mandatory Hotel Quarantine In Ireland
Further to the Embassy announcement on 10 April 2021, within the legislation, known as mandatory hotel quarantine, Turkey has been added to the list of designated countries and territories by the Irish authorities with effect from 15 April 2021, thus making every passenger coming to Ireland from Turkey subject to mandatory hotel quarantine.
Additional exemptions to the requirement for mandatory hotel quarantine have been put into place by the Irish Department of Health to be applicable from 17 April 2021 for passengers who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
Travelers who have documentary evidence of having received a full course of one of the following vaccines, recommended by the European Medicines Agency and approved by the European Commission, and have completed the final dose of that vaccine a sufficient period prior to travel to Ireland are exempted from mandatory hotel quarantine. These vaccines and their sufficient periods are given below.
Regarded as fully vaccinated after:
Pfizer-BioNtech: BNT162b2 7 days
Moderna: CX-024414 14 days
Oxford-AstraZeneca: ChAdOx1-SARS-COV-2 15 days
Johnson&Johnson/Janssen: Ad26.COV2-S 14 days
Passengers will have to carry with them a Certification of Vaccination in written or electronic form in the English language or the Irish language, or, where in a language other than the two, an official translation into either of these languages containing the following information: personal information of the vaccinated person, the date or dates on which the person was vaccinated, the body in the relevant country implementing the vaccination program.
In addition to this, an unvaccinated dependent person (including minors) travelling with a fully vaccinated person, who is exempt from mandatory hotel quarantine, is also exempt from the same. Besides, an exemption is in place for families with new-born babies who are no more than 28 days old, including those who have travelled to a “high risk” country for the purpose of surrogacy.
On the other hand, it is still required to present negative PCR test result done within last 72 hours prior to travel to Ireland and fill in “Passenger Locator Form” upon arrival in Ireland. The passengers who enjoy exemption from mandatory hotel quarantine by submitting a certification of vaccination are also required to complete a period of 14-day self-quarantine at home or at the address given on the Passenger Locator Form. Therefore, we advise anyone who wishes to travel to Ireland from Turkey or elsewhere to further seehttps://www.gov.ie/en/publication/b4020-travelling-to-ireland-during-the-covid-19-pandemic/before their travel.
